Abstract:
The technology for recovery of gold from ore containing gold and iron is as follows: The ore pulp is processed with sulphuric acid solution to dissolve carbonate and other acid-consuming impurities. The processed ore pulp is pressured and oxidized at a temperature between 135~250 deg.C with the concentration of the ionized sulphuric acid equal to 5~40 gram per litre so that iron sulphate may be produced. The sulphide is oxidized and converted into some sulphate. This makes the oxidized sulphur, which is less than 20%, appear in the form of elementary sulphur. Then water is added to the oxidized pulp to make the pulp contain 5~15% of solid substance. After the solid and the liquid are separated from each other, a solution, which contains iron and acid, an some oxidized solid are produced. The former is then delivered to the acid pretreatment process and from the latter gold is recovered.
