Abstract: |
|||
| According to the advice of the present invention, method for top-blowing the reduction gas stream is used to cover the surface of the molten metal beyond the blow impression by fine grained coal or coke particles. The particles of the stream are at least partially gasified into a carbon monoxide contained reduction gas stream before they hit the metal surface, while another part, particularly big particles, are just coked into coke particles rather than being gasified. This coke particles are blown onto the metal surface together with the reduction gas stream, and then radially moved toward the outside of the blow impression at all sides to form a thin veil beyond the perimeter of the blow impressions. | |||
