Abstract:
Air floatation is used in the method of this invention. Small bubbles are formed when air passes through air diffuser board, and floatation agent is used and adsorbed on the surface of bubbles, forming floating dross with silver compounds and gelatin micelles in waste liquor. The seperation between solid and liquid is effected by the action of buoyancy force. After the floating dross is taken out and processed, pure silver is obtained. This method shows a high rate of recovery (above 99%) of silver from waste liquor containing silver. The water processed and drained out is not affected by gelatin. The cost of recovery is only one tenth of that of ion exchange method. The technological process is rational, simple and easy to be widely used. This method can be used for recovery of silver from silver plating waste water or other waste waters containing silver.
