Abstract:
     The invention relates to a process for quenching long metallic articles with a round section. According to this process, the said articles can be passed through a heating chamber and a quenching chamber with the aid of a feed-in and supporting device. The feed-in and supporting device can be adjusted separately so that the axle of each article coincides with that of the predetermined advancing direction and the velocity of motion of all points on the article along a cylindrical spiral can be controlled and the pitch of the said spiral can be adjusted from zero to infinity.
