Abstract:
     The essential characteristics of technology of surface hardening treatment by laser and the equipment are as follows: long cylindrical workpiece is placed on the laser device which can produce spiral motion; laser beam produced by single mode or lower order mode CO2 laser device passes through reflecting mirror and is introduced to the inner surface of the cylinder, at the same time. a revoling mechanism digitally controlled by microcomputer makes the revolution of cylinder cooperated with the translation of the supporting rod of spherical surface focalizing reflecting mirror, thus producing spiral scanning, then hardening treatment of inner surface of the long cylinder may be done. This equipment may be used for different technological conditions to treat long cylinders of various materials.
