Abstract:
The present invention concerns a method for the fabrication of steel (low-friction material) leaf spring. For implementing said invention, firstly suitable low-carbon (C content 0.19 to 0.26%) alloy steel should be properly selected, secondly individual steel spring leaves are made according to conventional technique, then submitted to thorough heating at 860 to 930 deg.C and water cooled forced toughning. The leaves then undergo compressive strengthening treatment (shot-blasting and precompressing). They are finally assembled into complete spring assembly. Said invention differs from existing leaf-spring fabrication technique in material selection and fabrication technology. It is mainly suitable for the manufacturing of leaf springs for sutomobile, tractor and other engineering vehicles.
