Abstract: |
|||
| This invention utilizes a spraying metallurgy technology in which powder of alkali metals or alkali-earth metals and their alloys is sprayed into the high chromium stainless steel melt in a ladle or ladle refiner to effect dephosphorization. Under industrial conditions, the dephosphorization rate reaches 71-89% and phosphorus content of the steel can be reduced to 0.005%. In this way low phosphorus or extra-low phosphorus high chromium stainless steel can be produced by using normal recycle high chromium stainless steel or chromium ferro alloy. | |||
