Abstract: |
|||
| This invention is an inhibitor which is used in the process of manufacturing creeping graphite cast iron to prevent from excessive creeping, decrease the generation of globular or nodular graphites and stably obtain the creeping graphite cast iron with high creeping ratio. It is an eutectic substance, little of which is needed for use, and is composed of strontium carbonate (SrCO3), strontium chloride (SrCl2), calcium oxide (CaO) and sodium silicate or paraffin wax. Because this matter has such actions as deaeration, deoxidization and inclining to strengthen kernel of form and weaken white pig, the excessively creeped molten iron can be easily suppressed into the molten iron of creeping graphite cast iron, secondary inclusion would not be formed and oxidation due to the tumbling of molten iron would not occur. The inhibitor can be directly added into molten iron treated by creeping and incubation and can also be put at the narrow positions in the impression of casting mould. | |||
