Abstract:
     The direct refining and rolling of steel by pre-reduction of ore with lignite is a novel technology in ferrous metallurgy. As compared with existing blast furnace or revolving furnace, this process features that coke is not used, and blast furnace is eliminated, no sintering and coking is needed. Under conditions of strict control of operation and skillful kiln technique, poor grade lignite and lumped ore can be used to obtain steel directly by the said process. During processing, gas produced by reduction can be used, and also the semi-coke thus obtained. Saving both electricity and energy are predominate.
