| In preparation of fish leather, the skin is flocculated and (partly) degreased in a bath with little water, contg. anionic, nonionic or amphoteric surfactants, the skin is treated under movement in a bath contg. a keratolytic enzyme or an alkali (hydrogen) sulphide, slaked lime and water, and opt. freed from sulphide by a precipitant for sulphide and washed, opt. at the same time, the skin is degreased, the skin is pre-tanned with an aromatic syntan, at below 20 deg. and pH5-8, the skin is put into an acid salt soln. at pH 1.5-4, known tanning, esp. Cr tanning and/or tanning with a syntan, is carried out, and post-tanning is carried out with Cr or Al salts and/or syntans, by dyeing and oiling, and then drying and mechanical processing. | |||
