| This invention relates to the method of tanning horse hide. The horse leather, tanned according to the prior art, can only be processed into leather for shoe soles and suitcases, because the non-fibrous tissue of the croup part can not be removed, leading to a waste of much hide and low cost-effectiveness of the leather products. This invention is aimed at a improved technology of removing the undesirable constituents from horse hide by means of a paste composed of sodium sulfide, lime and caustic soda. The horse hide tanned by this technology can be processed into leather for garments making. This invention may contribute significantly to the improvement of utilization rate of horse hide and also to the increase of economic effects of finished leather products. | |||
