Abstract:
     The feature of this invention is that zirconium salt, along with solution of soluble salt of benzene polycarboxylic acid possessing three or more carboxy groups or its acid anhydride, is used to conduct tanning process. The leather produced possesses fine stability against heat and humidity. Its shrinkage temperature may be as high as 106-115 deg.C. If it is retanned with 0.2-2 percent chrome salt, its shrinkage temperature may reach 115-130 deg.C. This invention possesses the advantages of low pollution, low cost, simple technology, and easy operation.
