Abstract:
     This invention concerns an indicator for pasteurisation under high steam pressure, which is composed of a homogeneous mixture of benzoic acid and succinic anhydride sealed in a transparent glass tube. The time required for the complete melting of the said indicator is about 12-19 minutes, which is the duration required for killing all the thermophiles at 121 dge.C The indicator containing 20-45 g. benzoic acid and 0.5-2g. succinic anhydride is sealed in the transparent glass tubes after having been ground mixed, and pressed into tablets weighing 0.7-1.5 g. each.
