Abstract:
     2,2-dioxy 6-methyl-3.4-dihydro-1,2,3,-oxathiazine-4-one and its non-toxic salt is prepared in the reaction of acetamide with S-O compound in formula 1 in the case of existence of alkali. Non-toxic salt, pacticularly potassium salt is a valuable synthetic sweet taste agent.
