Abstract:
     This invention is applicable to castor bean processing. Castor beans are subjected to a decorticator to separate shells from the seeds. The shells and seeds are processed separately. The shells are ground and sieved for fractionation to produce plastic filler; while seed processing involves milling, extracting with ethanol and squeezing followed by hydration, static separation, concentration of the aqueous solution and removal of water from the oil which is decolored and deodorized by adding active carbon and diatom earth and then treated with centrifugal separation and vacuum filtration. Phosphatide, castor oil of industrial grade and for medical uses are obtd. successively. The dregs is mixed with lime water and boiled by steam followed by centrifugal dehydration and dryed to give detoxicated protein.
