| This invention describes an electrorheological fluid, especially an electrorheological fluid containing tubular or rodlike nanotitanates. The characteristics of the electrorheological fluid are: the dispersing phase of the electrorheological fluid is tubular nanosodium titanate, rodlike nanosodium titanate or rodlike nanopotassium titanate prepared by hydro-thermal method. The continuous phase is methyl silicone oil. The electrorheological fluid has outstanding mechanical properties (the figure shows the yield stress-electric field curve of the electrorheological fluid containing tubular nanosodium titanate at 25 deg.C with a particle volume content of 35%), as well as temperature and suspension stability. | |||
