Abstract:
     This invention provides a method and installation to produce producer gas for NH3 synthesis by fixed bed gasification of bituminous coal or inferior anthracite instead of coke or anthracite of high quality. For this purpose the current used producer furnace is improved to be one with heat exchanger and waste boiler with a combustion chamber. When bituminous coal is used air is blown through the upper zone of heat exchanger and the coal is dry distilled forming water gas. When inferior anthracite is used the waste gas abtained above is passed through the upper zone of heat exchanger thus coal is preheated and the temp. of blown air is increased up to 600 deg.C,then air is again blown in and spontaneously ignited. The sensible and latent heat are removed by passing it through the waste heat boiler.
