Abstract:
The polymeric additive can be use to inhibit paraffin wax from deposition in crude oil and to improve its fluidity. The polymeric additive of the present invention is made by polymerizing derivatives of following materials. They are alkyl esters of one or more unsaturated mono-carboxylic acids; one or more unsaturated chi, beta-dibasic carboxylic compounds, comprising dibasic acid, low alkyl diesters or anhydrides; one or more unsaturated olefiric monomer of the general formula CH2=CZ1Z2, in which Z1 and Z2 may be the same or different, and may be hydrogen, halogen, saturated or unsaturated, or aromatic radicals, or ester, or ether radicals. When the crude oil contains 5 to 4000 ppm of the additive, preferably 100 to 1500 ppm the composition shows greatly improved fluidity.
