Abstract:
    Disclosed is a process for deashing coal, which comprises the following steps: crushing coal to form crushed coal having a particle size less than 15 mm; producing an aqueous slurry comprising the crushed coal, 1 to 4 wt % of a binder based on the crushed coal, and water; churning up the aqueous slurry of the crushed coal and dispersing the ash of the crushed coal in water, effecting tumbling and agglomeration among the crushed coal particles and effecting tumbling to produce an aqueous slurry of agglomerated coal, separating the aqueous slurry of the agglomerated coal by treating with a solid-liquid separator, thick agglomerated cleanning coal are obtained on the separating medium, an aqueous slurry of thin agglomerated cleanning coal and ash are obtained under the separating medium; and adding a frother or a frother-based flotation reagent to the aqueous slurry of the thin agglomerated cleanning coal and the ash and recovering the thin agglomerated cleanning coal by flotation.
