Abstract:
    Copolymers of straight chain alpha olefins and maleic anhydride esterified with an alcohol wherein the alpha olefin and the alcohol are of the formula: R.CH=CH2R1OH in which at least one of R and R1 is greater than 10 and the sum of R and R1 is from 18 to 38 and R1 is linear or contains a methyl branch at the 1 or 2 position have been found to be effective additives for improving the low temperature properties of distillate fuels.
