Abstract:
The catalyst consists of Pt. or Pd. supported on gamma alumina. The catalyst contains 0.02 to 0.20 wt.% noble metal. The support has surface area 150 to 240 m2/g, pore vol. 0.45 to 0.95 ml/g, and most frequent pore radius 40 to 200 angstron. This catalyst not only prevents disadvantages of severe refining conditions of existing non-noble metal supported catalyst, but also gives high yield of good quality refining oil. The catalyst may be used either for hydrorefining raffinate oil, or for hydrorefining reformed oil and gas purification.
