Abstract:
Oil soluble organic bases (quaternary ammonium hydrate) are used as oil deodorant instead of conventional fixed bed method in which inorganic bases are used as deodorant. The new method of deodorization serves not only to save large amount of caustic soda, hence the problem of discharging waste alkali liquor may be eliminated, but also to simplity the process, to promote the efficiency of deodorization, and to lessen environmental pollution. Since the amount of organic base used is only in a range of 1-1000 ppm, the production cost is much less than that of the old process.
