Abstract:
     The catalyst consists of oxides of W and Ni with fluorine additives supported on gamma alumina. Its compsn. (wt.): Ni oxide 1 to 5%, W oxide 12 to 35%, fluorine 1 to 9%. Since the catalyst support, gamma alumina, is prepared by calcinating the boehmite of purity more than 65%, from hydrolysis of Al alkoxide or Al alkyl at high temp., the catalyst hydrodenitrogenation activity increases while the content of supported hydrogenation constituent decreases. The catalyst is suitable for hydrodenitrogenation and hydrodesulfurization of petroleum fractional oils, and also for hydrogenation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
