Abstract:
     Liquor, which mutual soluble with water such as oil-based drilling mud may be thickened by adding of water dispersion of polymer particales, which is not soluble in water and that liquor but may be swelled in the later. When the particles are not swelled, the average diameter of the particles less than 10 micron and preferable at least 30% (by wt) of grain size in the range of 0.5 5 micron. It is recommended that the polymers are synthesized by more than 80% (by wt) of hydrophobic monomers (preferable alkyl acrylate) and at most 20% of hydrophilic monomers (unsaturated carboxylic acid is preferable, wherein acrylic acid is the most preferable).
