     The inner surface of a reinforcing structure adapted to encircle a faceplate panel of a cathode-ray tube is provided with a coating of an inherently-tacky adhesive material. When the tube is ready for reinforcing, the reinforcing structure is positioned around the panel with the tacky coating against the panel .
