Abstract:
     The product wastes from tannery are put to washing and soaking so as to remove free alkalies, and then are treated with inorganic acid to swell them. A high qualified acidic gelatin, called "gelatin class A" is obtained. The process is considerably simplified and bleaching with H2O2 is eliminated. Viscosity and gelation are higher than those of the current products. The time of pretreatment is reduced from 20-30 hrs to 25-28 hrs, thus the rate of equipment utilization is increased and production cost reduced, furthermore it saves large amount of water and leaves with no waste.
