Abstract:
     The present invention relates to a process for catalytic cracking of rosin. An efficient cracking catalyst is a heteropoly acid with keggin-type structure and its chemical formula is H8-n[A( n)B12O40].XH2O. The catalyst (0.05-0.5 wt.%) is added to rosin and a reaction takes place at 200-240 deg.C for 2-4 hr while a water remover is used to remove water, resulting in cracked product. Its advantages are less consumption of catalyst, short reaction time, low reaction temp and environmental protection.
