Abstract:
     A sulphuric acid method for producing of rutile type pigment of titania is introduced. In this process, whole quantity of diluent agent (water and meta-titanic acid bound water act as stabilizing agent) is fed once, then 2 to 3% of seed crystal solution is added, and further, whole quantity of titanium solution to be hydrolyzed, is fed under boiling condition. Keep the hydrolysis reaction for 5 hours with stirring. The hydrolyzate is filtered through a kind of filtering medium, such as filter paper, filtration fabric, which has been coated or immersed with modified flocculent reagent. Through two stages of treatment as mentioned above, the filtering capacity of meta-titanic acid can reach 20 to 128 kg/m2.Hr (in dry base of TiO2).
