Abstract:
     Through research of microscopic surface structure and colouration mechanism of colour sand, this invention adopted a low temperature reaction sintering process, and applied alkali metal silicate solution or silica sol as reagents for making the transition metal oxide pigment with silica-containing mineral particle surface produce a chemically stable silicate mineral and alternate salt. The colour sand produced by this invention possesses several good resistivities against such as water solubility, alkali, acid, freezing-thawing and freezing, thermal stability and quick cooling and heating resistance. The colour sand developed by this invention has lower energy comsuption, lower cost and simpler equipment.
