Abstract:
     This invention relates to a new kind of carbon black which is prepared from the solid wastes of the fertilizer plant by a process comprising water soaking, separation by settling, dehydration on heating, crushing and classification. It can be used to substitute partly or fully the conventional carbon black. Addition of the esters of phthalic acid or organic amine salts to the starting material in the process of heating enhances greatly the reinforcing action on the elastomers. The carbon black manufactured according to this invention costs only 1/3 to 1/2 of that of the conventional carbon black.
