Abstract: |
|||
| The old two-step process is replaced by a single-step process in which aqueous KOH solution is substituted by K2CO3 powder. In the simplified process the five-membered cyclic peptide-containing bisphenol, which is the monomer of determining effect with selfcatalyzing property reacts with dihaloarylsulphone. The sidereactions occurring in the two-step process do not take place in the new process. The process is characterized by low reaction temperature, short reaction time, product of high molecular weight, high yield, reproducibility of viscosity, simple procedure, low toxicity, and ease to control. The products from this process can be easily fabricated into film, sheet, board, pipes, fibre and other structural materials, which may be used in space flight, nuclear industry, machinery and electrical industries, and serves as insulation material, material for medical uses, membrane for separation and fresh food-preserving membrane and so on. | |||
