Abstract:
The method is a process for production of epoxy-finishing-agent, which is suitable for finishing of fabrics of tussah silk. Using glycol and epichlorhydrin as reactants, the finishing agent is colorless and readily soluble in water. After finished by the agent of this invention, the fibrics retain their original hand-feeling and gloss. Besides, the materials become shrink and rumple-proof, their durability to washing and brushing has obviously improved, and they have been imparted the quality of washed and wore. They have no residual stiomulant, nor gave off any. In comparison with current finishing-agent production processes, this method does not need to add staining inhibitors, requires a lower reaction temperature and less reaction time. When ether solution is added to regulate the reaction, ring opening and cyclisation take place in the same reactor, and only atmospheric distllation is needed, therefore, the process has the advantage of low equipment cost.
