Abstract:
     Diethyl p-phthalate and ethylene glycol are added in the reactor containing molten BHT. When depolymerization is accomplished dihydroxy-ethyl-p-phthalate and/or oligomers of BHT are/is obtained. The reaction conditions are as follows: (a) Equivalent ratio of molten BHT and acid component should be 1.3~2.0. (b) Weight ratio of acid component for molten BHT and polyester scraps should be 1/4~2/1. (c) The ratio of polyester scraps and ethylene glycol should be kept the equivalent ratio of ethylene glycol and acid component between 1.3~2.0 Depolymerization is proceeded with stirring at 215-250 deg.C. At the end of reaction a part of the final product is fransfered into the polymerization reactor.
