Abstract:
     Resins of this invention are produced from phenol, urea and formaldehyde as mian raw materials. The molar retio of phenol to urea is 1:1-4, the ratio of formaldehyde to phenol and urea is 1.5-2.2:1. An oligomer is obtained by condensation of phenol and formaldehyde in alkali medium, then urea is added to the oilqomer resulting in a water soluble phenol modified urea formaldchyde resin. The advantages of this method are: short production period, low contents of free aldehyde and phenol in the resin, water and heat resistance of the resin and low cost of raw materials. This resin may be widely used in the production of dry method fibre board, shaving board, clastic board, decorative board and laminates.
