| In order to get a series of polyvinylbutyrals with a wide range of mol. wt., it is necessary to prepare a solid high mol. wt. polyvinylbutyral by condensation of polyvinylalcohol dissolved in water with butyl aldehyde at room temperature. From the above mentioned product of high mol. wt., a series of polyvinylbutyrals with a wide range of lower mol. wt. is obtained by controlling the dosage of irradiation of beta or gamma rays on the said product. | |||
