Abstract:
    The invention relates to copolymers (A) of unsaturated carboxylic acids selected from sulphonic acid group-containing carboxylic acids, comonomeric mixtures of sulphonic acid group-containing carboxylic acids with dicarboxylic acids and comonomeric mixtures of sulphonic acid group-containing carboxylic acids and/or dicarboxylic acids and their anhydrides with other unsaturated compounds, especially mono-ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acids with 3 to 10 C atoms. A further embodiment of the invention comprises a process for producing the copolymers (A), the mixing of the copolymers (A) with similar copolymers (B) and the use of the said copolymers and their mixtures as sequestrating agents, complex formers and co-builders in the washing and cleaning agent industry and as auxiliaries in textile finishing.
