Abstract:
     The invention relates to a method for planting high-yield mandarin duck maize, and hybrid seed selection and preparation method thereof, characterized in: inseminating sterile hybrid seeds and normal hybrid seeds together, the sterile seeds are selected and bred successfully by the following step: (1) transforming sterile genes; (2) backcrossing; (3) backcrossing again; (4) arranging different hybrid seeds in one group; (5) GCA test. Yield of planting mandarin duck maize hybrid seeds produced by this method is increased by 14-22.88% than that of planting normal single cross hybrid maize seeds. Only male sterility line is needed to be cultivated, and neither does restoring line, which simplifies the breeding program of maize, saves time and labour.
