Abstract:
     Crustacyanin reacts with acetic anhydride in presence of P-toluene sulfonic acid or P-toluene sulfonic acid-perchloric acid or water containing perchloric acid resulting in acetylated crustacyanin. Product synthesized by this method has good solubility in formic acid. That one prepared in presence of P-toluene sulfonic acid-perchloric acid has higher mol. wt. than by other method.
