Abstract:
     Starch is hydrolyzed in acidic solutions containing alcohol and then carboxymethylated in sodium hydroxide and chloroacetic acid solution. The product is dissolved in water, decolorized, filtered, purified and dried. The final product has a substitution range of 0.2-1.0, intrinsic viscosity 10-100 de/g of product. Various preparations, such as syrup, powder, or liquid for injection, can be made from it for curing relapsed respiratory infection and allergic athma for children.
