Abstract:
     Starch is mixed with an etherifing agent with active cationic group in the ratio 97-80:3-20 in the presence of alkali catalyst. Cationic starch with a substitution degree of 0.02-0.075 is prepared in a synthesis device by dry process using microwave technique. Its main properties come up to or surpass those of cationic starch prepared by wet process. The technology of said process is simple and may be easily commercialized, the productivity is raised above ten fold, the cost is lowered by 20 percent.
