Abstract:
     A karagum is made by the treatment of red algae group, with potassium hydroxide solution and used for the industries of food, medicine and cosmetics. It has no pollution on environment. The concentration of used potassium hydroxide solution is 5-3% (wt.), the treatment temp. is room temp up to 80 deg.C., and waste solution contains potassium hydroxide and algae residues. According to the need of different crops, the waste solution may be compounded into compound fertilizers of different compositions.
