Abstract:
     Castor-bean dregs is mixed with water and the mixture is loaded in a puffing device, which is then heated by passing steam in until the temp. is 135-142 deg.C and the pressure is 0.3-2 MPa. After the temp. is kept for 30 minutes, high-pressure air is passed in and the mixture is suddenly puffed at a pressure of 0.7-3 MPa to expand the proetin structure in the dregs and to make the toxin be dissolved in water. Through centrifugal dewatering and washing with hot water, which will be repeated several times, and baking, a nontoxic protein is obtained.
