     The Ardisia crenate, A. japonica, A. crispa, A. quinquengona and A. pusilla all contain 2-5% pentacyclic total triterpenoid saponin. The present invention relates to extract the total triterpenoid saponin from then by alcohol or methanol reflux and macroreticular resin extraction and to prepare the Chinese medicine for treating tumors from the extracted substance as it has obvious anticancer activity.
