Abstract:
     A process for synthesizing the echinocystic saponin derivative which has potential medical value includes synthesizing the steroid saponin of glucose and linking trisaccharide to it. Said derivative retains the core tetresaccharide unit of natural echinocystic saponin, that is, alpha-L-arabinofuranose-(1-4)-[beta-D-glycopyranose-(1-3)]-alpha-L-rhamnopyranose-(1-2)-D-glycopyranose and a steriod or triterpene ligand structure.
