Abstract:
     It is an improved method to produce the bydrochloride of the compound. The raw material used is N-trifluoroacetyla driamgcin, it is first oxidized on the C-4'position to make the 4'-keton-trifluoroacetyla-driamycin, its 4'-keton radical is subjected to stereo-selected reduction and N-protective aldehyde hydrolysis and the compound is obtd. This intermediate is treated with bromine to obtain the correspondent 14-bromo-derivative. This is then hydrolyzed with sodium formate water solution to obtain the compound, and it crystallizes as its bydrochloride.
