Abstract:
     The invention relates to the method of preparing etoposide (4'-demethyl epipodophyllotoxin-9-4,6-0-ethylidene-beta-D-pyranose). Compounds with the general formula of 4'-haloacetyl-4'-demethyl-epipodophyllotoxin-beta-D-2,3-2-0-haloacetyl-4,6-0-ethylidene glucoside are reacted with alxohol, amine and/or ammonia to remove the haloacetyl groups and thus obtianing etoposide.
