Abstract:
The present invention refers to a process for production of sodium salt of propyl guluronate sulfuric ester, using sodium alginate as basic raw material to obtain guluronic acid through acid hydrolysis. The acid is then esterified with epoxy propane into propyl guluronate, which is sulphonated by chlorosulfuric acid into sodium salt of propyl guluronate sulfuric ester. It is a new substance and a new medicine, heparitin. It is non-toxic and can be used to slow down the growth of urinary calculi crystals. It is especially suitable for patients suffering from repeated relapse of Ca contg. urinary calculi and for patients after operation.
