| This invention discloses a method for preparing silicate polymers of various degrees of hydrolysis. N-methylsilicate is made by the reaction between ferrosilicon and methanol. Then let N-methyl silicate to react with industrial alcohols containing water, and under the catalization of alkali or acid or ion ekchange resin, it is turned directly into silicate polymers of various degrees of hydrolysis. This technology possesses the advantages of non-corrosiveness to equipment, simple technological process, high reaction speed, high purity of products, and low cost, etc. Silicate polymers of various degrees of hydrolysis can be used in precision casting, coating materials rich in zinc, adhesives for materials tolerating high temp. and so forth. | |||
