| The invention relates to a method of preparing low-molecular-weight alpha, omega siloxane glycol from alkoxy silane (its general chemical formula is (RO)2 SiR'R" with R standing for Me, Et; R', R" for H, Me, Et, Ph, Vi etc.) with acids such as oxalic acid, chlorhydric acid, phosphoric acid and acetic acid as catalyst. The reaction is acomplished in excesive water of which the temperature is controlled under 50 deg.C by a couple of hydrolyses each of which lasts 1-2 munites. The average degree of polymerization ranges from 2 to 10 with hydroxy covering up 1-14% of the product, little alkoxy (below 0.2%) leaving or no. The product is an ideal choice for the structure-controlling agent of silicon rubber, or the coating material of insulating paper, demoulding agent and silicon sulfide rubber of indoor temperature. Simple production process, easy control over the degree of polymerization, low-energy comsumption are the merits of the method. | |||
