Abstract:
     This invention discloses an improved process for preparing cholerythrin from animal's bile. A mixed solvent of ethyl acetate and dichloromethane is added to the bile to extract free cholerythrin from the bile and alkali liquid is then added to saponify the combined hematoidin in the bile. After saponification, a mixed solvent of dichloromethane and alcohol is added and a mixture of acetic acid and hydrochloric acid is then added for acidolysis, to make decomposed cholerythin quickly be divorced from acidic surrounding and go into solvent so as to avoid the isomeric loss of cholerythin due to acid catalysis. The lowest layer of cholerythin extracts is separated out and the solvent is distilled out to obtain the crystal of cholerythin. 30g of cholerythin may be obtained from 100kg of ox bile.
